What should I do if I do not succeed in installing the Link?
Installing the link has not been successful: you are stuck on one of the steps. In fact, without the Link being installed, none of the devices can be installed. Installing the Link is the prerequisite first step in installing the Home Alarm system.
Before you start, you need to make sure that it's a Link and not a radio relay that you're trying to install. In fact, these two pieces of equipment look very similar, the difference being in the side button. The Link button is white, whereas the radio relay button is grey:

Procedure
First of all, restart your smartphone and your internet router. Once both devices have restarted, follow the steps in the order shown:
1. Resetting the Link
- Unplug the Link.
- If the Link indicator is not off, hold down the button on the side until the indicator light turn off. if the Link indicator light stays on, please wait until the Link battery completely loses its charge (up to 6h maximum), the indicator light will turn itself off at that time.
- Plug the Link back in while holding the button down for 30 seconds, then release the button.
- The Link will restart, it has now rebooted, which is indicated by a “slow wave” type of flashing.
2. Positioning of the Link
To avoid any WiFi range problems during installation, the Link should be placed no more than 2m from your router.
3. WiFi connection
The smartphone used to perform the installation must be connected to the WiFi network to which the Link will be connected.
To connect to the Internet, your WiFi network must meet the following criteria*:
- WiFi password encryption: WPA2 PASKAES protocol only
- WiFi radio frequency: 2.4 GHz only (No 5 or 6 GHz)
- WiFi password: Only alphanumeric characters (no special characters such as '+' or '&') during the initial installation (after installation and the first update, these characters are accepted)
- WiFI SSID + password: Must not exceed 45 characters
- WiFi pairing: Deactivate WPS or Easy Pairing
- WiFi pairing: Deactivate MAC filtering
*If you are unable to check one or more of the above points, please contact your internet service provider.
4. Tethering
If after completing each of the previous steps the Link installation fails again. Try tethering your Link to the Internet using a second phone.
Connect your first phone to the WiFi network provided by the second phone used as modem (Tethering should be activate on it).
The WiFi password and frequency provided by this second phone must meet the previous criteria.
If the Link is able to connect to the network using tethering, the problem with connecting to your home's WiFi network is due to one or more of the criteria set out in point 3 have not been met.
If the Link is still unable to connect with tethering, please contact customer service.
