What should I do if an IntelliTAG triggers a false alarm?
If an IntelliTAG triggers a false alarm, various actions can be taken to avoid it, depending on the reason for triggering:
1. Open cover detection
Check that the cover is correctly installed:
- The seal is correctly positioned in the cover
- The cover is firmly pressed against the entire surface of the IntlliTAG.
If the triggers continue for the same reason, you can swap the cover of the triggering IntelliTAG with that of another IntelliTAG. This will enable you to identify the equipment causing the false triggering (the IntelliTAG or its cover) and contact customer service for replacement solutions.
2. Detection of attempted opening
Check the two following points:
- Installation: It should be placed horizontally across the top of the door or window, approximately two-thirds of the way across the width, starting from the hinge side.
- Sensitivity: In the "My equipment" menu of the Somfy Protect application, select the IntelliTAG and reduce its detection sensitivity to 4
If the triggers continue for the same reason, you can swap this IntalliTAG with another that is OK. This will help you identify whether the problem is with the IntelliTAG (triggers continue on the same equipment) or its environment (triggers continue on the same door or window):
- If this is an IntelliTAG problem, or if you are unable to carry out this interchange test, please contact customer services.
- If this is an environment problem, check the IntelliTAG installation, reduce the vibrations from the door or window and lower the detection sensitivity again.
3. Door opening detection
Check the two following points:
- Installation: It should be placed horizontally across the top of the door or window, approximately two-thirds of the way across the width, starting from the hinge side.
- Calibration: In the "My equipment" menu of the Somfy Protect application, select the IntelliTAG and recalibrate the IntelliTAG
If the triggers continue for the same reason, you can swap this IntalliTAG with another that is OK. This will help you identify whether the problem is with the IntelliTAG (triggers continue on the same equipment) or its environment (triggers continue on the same door or window):
