heating costs down Heat loss windows

How can we reduce heating costs?

If the curtains are closed or the window coverings are lowered, your heating costs tend to go down as well. And yes, this also applies to shutters or screens. Anything that insulates a window, helps to keep heat in and cold out.

In other words: blinds, shutters, and window coverings can function as a barrier against cold.

With window coverings, curtains, shutters, and screens, you can save by reducing heat loss.

Counteract heat loss

A house loses energy. It is estimated that between 15 and 20 per cent of energy loss occurs via the windows. This therefore makes the role of curtains, window coverings, screens, and shutters all the more interesting.

Surprisingly though, their insulating value is often still underestimated. Many people cannot imagine, for example, how much roller shutters and/or blinds can reduce heat loss.

For a single-glazed window, the savings are substantial: the loss goes down by around 36 to 40 per cent.

Activate anything that insulates

All the more reason to activate anything that insulates your windows in autumn and winter, too.

If you choose electrical window coverings, curtains, screens, or roller shutters, these savings can become even more effective and interesting.

Via the TaHoma switch, you can program them to go up or down at set times, even when you are not home.

TaHoma switch smart control brings out the best in your home

It is very easy to connect the motorisation of your curtains, window coverings, screens, and shutters to the TaHoma switch. Additionally, TaHoma features an app that gives you full control over these energy savers. You can even set scenes tailored to specific times of day, such as sunset or twilight.

Alternatively, make use of the thermal comfort scene. Everything is closed or lowered automatically, including unnecessary heating costs.
