Malmo, 14 06 2019 – Somfy Sweden and Skanska Nya Hem have signed a collaboration agreement regarding Smart Home solutions for new-build flats and houses in Sweden.

Skanska Nya Hem will offer its customers a Smart Home starter pack, including Somfy’s TaHoma, the hub, and home control center for the Smart Home,  lighting control and safety products in the form of connected fire alarms, water leak detectors,  door opening sensors and more.

Somfy, with its Swedish headquarters in Malmö, has been operating in Sweden since 1969 and is perhaps best known for the motors it manufactures for the awnings found on many Swedish homes. Over the years, motorised control of everything from terrace and window awnings to blinds and curtains has made people’s everyday life easier and increased their indoor comfort at their homes.

“We started our Smart Home journey almost 10 years ago. What’s new is that, since January 2019, we now have two full-time employees focusing solely on Smart Home solutions for new build housing. The agreement with Skanska is a central part of our investment and our hope is that the industry begins to prepare its homes for Smart Home products in order to meet the needs of customers for now and in the future.
