A standard screen has fixed side guides, but are also available with tensioned steel wire to act as a guide for the fabric. This type is less suitable when used at higher altitudes such as in apartment blocks, as strong winds can cause the bottom bar to flap.
This is a 'windproof screen' with a metal bar at the bottom that will lock into the side guide when closed. This is necessary when the wind starts to blow and prevents the bottom bar from flapping.
